RzRescue

Has your Rz3 database ever been backed up or safeguarded?  Without a full data set stored safely off-site, you are at risk of losing your entire Rz3 database from something as catastrophic as a fire or flood, to something as seemingly minor as a power outage or failed computer hard disk.

Even if your IT staff has been doing regular backups, any one of these common mistakes could still allow a data disaster:

The Problems:

 * Long Backup Intervals
Weekly backups are fine...as long as you can afford to lose all of last week's quotes, orders, notes, inventory changes, etc.  The most important information is often what was just entered, and a backup from a week ago won't have it.

 * Automation Failure
It is a common IT practice to schedule automated backups.  Equally common, however, is a failure to check that the backups continue to happen after the automation is originally configured.  All too often, it takes a catastrophic failure for organizations to realize that due to drive space restraints or configuration changes, the automated script to safeguard the data hasn't been running.

 * On-Site Storage
Making a backup copy to another device in your office protects against small problems like drive failures, but not against major events like fires, floods, or theft.  Keeping copies in one or more geographically separate locations is the only full protection.

 * Data Corruption
Even with a daily off-site backup system that appears to be working, there is always the possibility that at some point in the process the backup file is being damaged or corrupted, or that the process is accidentally protecting an incorrect or incomplete set of information.  Often, the corrupted or missing data goes unnoticed until the backup is needed, and by then its too late.

The Solution:

RzRescue addresses each of these potential pitfalls and implements a process flow you can rely on.

 * Daily Schedule
RzRescue runs daily, scheduled overnight, so that in case of a disaster we can restore your Rz3 system with the latest possible information.

 * Off-Site Storage
Once a backup is complete, the information is compressed and sent via the Internet to both of Recognin's off-site storage locations, each situated in different geographic regions.

 * Active Monitoring
Rather than simply expecting the backups to happen, our internal system actively tracks backup history for each customer, and notifies both our office and yours via email if a day passes without a full and complete copy of the Rz3 data.

 * Data Validation
Once the backup is complete, we initialize and query the database, and generate a brief email report for your review including the date of the most recent quote, the most recent invoice, and the most recent purchase order.  This step checks the file's integrity, and ensures that the information we're guarding is correct and current.

Pricing:

We offer RzRescue for a monthly fee; there's no setup charge and it can be cancelled at any time.  The fee is based on the size of your company's Rz3 database; $59.99 per month for small database files (less than 2GB), and $79.99 for mid-size files (less than 4GB). Please contact Mike at Recognin (919-870-7899 or mike@recognin.com) for the size of your specific database and a price quote for databases larger than 4GB.
